Radical Reflections is an online platform providing content on critical theory and continental philosophy, for both students and general readers alike, with an aim of making radical theory more accessible, so people can learn to rationally analyse the problems our society faces today.
We all are socially conditioned in a certain way, and hence learn to see society and its problems with the ideological framework of the class, race, gender or caste that has economic and political power in society. For example, the common people are made to believe that "hard work is the key to success", but this statement leaves out the actual dominant factors which determines whether an individual will be successful or not, the economic class of the individual for instance is one of these factors; also, what we conceptualise as success is also determined by the ruling ideology. One of the main tasks of critical theory is to unravel this ideological framework, in order to liberate the oppressed classes.
On Radical Reflections, you can expect to gain knowledge of various schools of thought in the humanities and social sciences, like Marxism, Psychoanalysis, Structuralism, Post-structuralism, etc. When we talk about critical theory, the application of it i.e. critical studies in film, media and literature are already included in this term.
